FAQ: FAQ

Will I have a choice of styles?

We offer a range of styles for you too choose from. Styles available for your pet will depend on the condition of the coat and the temperament. We offer free consultations.

Do I need to inform the groomer if my dog is prone to any aggressive behaviour?

we need to know if your dog is prone to any types of aggressive or difficult behaviour so we can take the necessary precautions.
When we are dealing with dogs that have difficult or aggressive behaviour, we need to work with their owner as well, so these dogs can be supported into accepting the grooming procedure.
Some really aggressive dogs that we work with will need to come in at the end of the day with the owner.

Can you remove the knots and matts from my dogs coat?

Animal welfare act 2006.

This is a common asked question. We can remove matts using various methods, techniques and products, but this can also depends on many other factors.

The hair left after knot and matt removal depends on many contributing factors. The severity (tightness and extent of the mats) as well as the disposition of the individual animal.

We use every technique to save coat and style as owners wish but we also need to put humanity before vanity, so please be guided by our professionals when deciding the best course of action for your pet.

Sometimes to remove the coat and start again is the ONLY option.

Ideally regular weekly brushing and combing of your pet as well as regular grooming appointments will avoid the build up of knots and the need to remove coat, it also encourages a healthy coat and skin.

There will usually be an additional charge for knot and matt removal, prices are determined from the individual pet requirements and any contributing factors.

The animal welfare act stipulates it is an offence to cause animals pain or discomfort and we reserve the right to remove coat if we feel this is in the benefit of the animal in question.

Why cant you give me a definite price?

Prices are set realistically depending on the breed and work to be carried out, we cannot give you a set price without seeing your dog and the work to be carried out. You may incur additional charges for removal of stubborn knots, overdue and unkempt coats, aggressive behaviour or flea baths.
